A peaceful respite from the traffic-clogged Brixton Road, Adulis offers traditional Eritrean food in modest but well-designed surroundings- white paintwork and plaster-moulded alcoves, with displays of instruments and artefacts….In all, Adulis is a cosy and laid-back place well worth a visit.

Time Out, Eating & Drinking

From a generous list of vegetarian options, how about the misnamed foul – a tasty mix of broad beans, onions and olives, served with cottage cheese, tomatoes and butter? Babies and children are welcome.

Toptable

Adulis likes to give itself the sub-title of Little Eritrea, since that is the country from which their cuisine and aspirations are drawn. From the moment you enter the diverse cultural heritage of Eritrea becomes apparent, both in the greeting, the décor, the aromas and the level of enjoyment.

Restaurant Guide

If you’re looking for a tasty place to dine that will please both veggies and meat-eaters, head for Adulis Eritrean Restaurant.

CLARE CASEY, South London Press

It has a lively, upbeat, modern atmosphere, particularly on a Saturday evening. The food was really fresh and nicely spiced… Food service on a Saturday is slow because everyone wants to be there so come prepared to wait… It’s worth it.

Andrea Hosfeld, London Eating

I’ve never had Eritrean cuisine before. In fact I suppose most people won’t have but let me tell you it’s FANTASTIC!!! Adulis might not be the poshest or most sophisticated restaurant around but that is more than made up for in great food, lovely, friendly waiters and a kick-ass atmosphere. The live music is really fun and helps Adulis to stand out from the crowd. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone sick of all the identikit restaurants around London lately.
